DNA model construction and spooling of DNA. Students will firstly be introduced to the structure and characteristics of DNA by constructing a DNA model. This activity is followed by a teacher demonstration of spooling chromosomal DNA out of solution. Students will participate in extracting DNA from fresh onion, Strawberry or banana tissue. For 10 Lab Groups.
All components are stable at room temperature.

Requirements:
- Fresh onion, banana or strawberries
- 95-100% Isopropyl Alcohol
- Distilled water.
Time Requirements: 30 minutes.
