The reusable inoculating handle is made of nickel plated brass and has a Bakelite grip section to insulate against heat transfer along the shaft when the loop/wire section is being held in a flame for sterilisation. The Bakelite handle can be disinfected with ethanol.

Each handle comes with a reversible 10 ul loop/wire to ensure that the product is ready to use. Replacement loops/wires are available to purchase separately (see IL1).
